My Exchange Experiences

Hello again, I am back!

Let me tell you about my latest experience, I participated in an exchange program with Italian students from Bologna.

My week was extremely packed with things to do, interesting adventures full of joy and happines. I made friendships for a lifetime and I have unforgettable memories.

When the Italian students hosted us in October 2015 in a small town near Bologna, called Sasso Corvaro, it was one of my greatest experiences. I found it exciting to be part of a real Italian family, making real Italian friends. It was basically supposed to be an English ex-change program, but as I am half-Italian I 'cheated' and used mainly Italian.

This year was my second time to participate in an exchange, as last spring I hosted a Dutch girl from Wagheninghen and I travelled to the Netherlands in May 2015. This was as well in English and I remember to have improved a lot during these periods spent with other foreign, English speaking students.

I think exchange programs are great occasions to make friendships for a lifetime and be open to get to know new people. They can give you cultural insights or even love. Last but not least they improve your language skills as nothing else can. Travelling to a foreign country and being part of a different society for a period of time can be hard though, but these programs are also useful for us to improve how to cope with difficult situations and accept habits unlike ours.

Trip to London

img_4946.JPG

I went for a trip with my schoolmates to London last week. The city became one of my favourites because it’s incredible how the old and new architecture mixes in the centre. My personal favourite was the Tower bridge and the Tower of London with the crown jewels and of course I can’t leave out Harrods and Selfridges from the list.

The best program of the week was The Globe theatre where we saw the Midsummer Night's Dream from Shakespeare. Our hostel was in South Kensington which is a quite nice area. The streets and the houses were extremely organised, people living here were friendly and open as londoners usually are. Let me share some pictures with you.

Earth Day thoughts

_dsc4391.jpg
Friday was the International Eart Day, I would like to share some thoughts about it.

Do you agree that the Earth is dying? If you think so you are right.

We can slow down the process of it’s destruction but unfortunately we can’t stop it anymore. Our fossils will run out and the globe will be warmer in every single year. The world leaders can meet in conferences and agree on reduction of clymate change in Paris and make ’Earth Day’ but it will not work without us, without our contribution.

Little drops make an ocean so don’t hesitate, let's make a change on our bad habits and give a livable planet to our upcoming generations.

Reduce, reuse and recycle!

Many simple mathods can help a lot. Return the lightbulbs, the glass bottles the batteries and collect rubbish selectively. Make compost if you have garden, bring your old clothes to the collecting points, use textil shopping bag and use less paper for printing.

Let's keep our environment clean and healthy together!

Here are some pictures from a Saturday afternoon walk in the woods.

Elle fashion show

img_5801_1.JPG

Yesterday was a very exciting day to me. I have seen the latest trends from Hungarian and international designers. It was my first time attending a fashion show, therefore I spent some time putting together my outfit before the event.

I grabbed a pair of navy blue pants, shoes and turtleneck. I stole my fathers' leather belt and I have ordered two glasses from ZeroUV and a coat from H&M webshop. I got a deal on the coat for half-price and all arrived on time, so I was satisfied with the service.

The show and the location was excelent (Várkert Bazár, Budapest)  several brands appeared with their (stand). My personal favourite was Komono. The brands' name means "small things" in Japanese and they produce exclusive watches and shades for affordable price. There were numerous fashion shows like: Enihorn, Musette, Paolo Ericco, Valentine Gauthier, Elementy wear. From the catwalk I should highlight 'Nude By Nubu'. It is the sub-brand of Nubu giving simple valuable and affordable pieces revising Nubu studio. Their pieces are for those who like to express themselves with contemporary and plain clothes.

The day was quite long but overall It was a very nice experience sitting in the first row and watching those design brands who I look up to.

Táska

_dsc5261.jpg

My aim with this blog is to support Hungarian designers and motivate people to buy "made in Hungary" labelled quality products. Even if these products are more expensive,  believe me, they give value for your money. They are made of the best materials. I know their price is high but that's because they are not produced in big quantities.

After following up some ambitious Hungarian designers who launched brands like: Use Unused, Zsigmond Dora, Kele clothing, Lauranna, Kata Szegedi. I found  Táska. It was love at first sight.

I wanted to refresh my wardrobe with something special and unique and the way Táska plays with materials and colours grabbed my look. The robust leather with gentle marble pattern, black ropes ending with copper rings... absolutely got me. I saved up some money and... I bought them and took them home. Im really satisfied with my leather gymbag. It's the best companion either on trips or in the city.

Check Füzet as well, as these two brands are run by two friends.
